Flash Gradient.

No Queensday nail art from me, I'm afraid! I'm not a great big fan of orange, and since I'll be away from home for tomorrow I don't want to be stuck with such a specific type of nail art.

Okay! I wanted to do something cool again. I love the complimentary contrast of green-purple, and these two are from Hema's Neon set (74 - purple, 75 - green). Though as somebody told me when I wore these colours once before "you can make even neon look dark".
I have only one gradient under my belt prior to this one (of which I sadly have no good pictures) so that's not much experience in the area. I didn't know if I was going to manage to blend these two very different shades well enough for my liking. Of course, it's not a perfect gradient - but I still think it looks pretty nice.

Lightning bolts are a gradient variation on this tutorial from Nailside.
Black is 'Black!' from Koh.

Outta This World.

My birthday was earlier this month, and a friend of mine got me some polishes! (All Rimmel; 035 Wine Not, 198 Azure, 519 Desert Beauty, 600 Deliciously Dark & 700 Block Your Green)

I've already worn Wine Not and Deliciously Dark in a pretty nice layering experiment which I sadly (due to lack of camera) didn't get to photograph but which I may have to repeat in the future because it created a lovely dark burgundy sort of shade.

For today's mani - which is another half rhombus - I used Azure.

The tape came off very smoothly so I got excellently crisp lines in this one! The silver under Azure is YSL shade 141 - White Gold.

Post title brought to you by this little alien guy.

No Worries.

This amazing blue is Koh 'No Worries (217)', one of the most vibrant nail polishes I've ever seen in my life. The pictures truly don't do it justice, it's absolutely astonishingly beautiful. It takes a few layers, but then you've really got something.
Not sure when this picture was taken, but we can judge it was a once upon a time where I still painted down to the cuticle.

I wholeheartedly recommend this polish to anybody that likes blue even in the slightest. You won't regret adding it to your collection.

The Culprit.

An oldie, but a goodie. Originally done late August 2011, this style of mani (which I've come to refer to as half rhombus) has easily become one of my absolute favourite and go-to kinds (hence I call this post 'the culprit' - this mani is to blame for my frequent use). They're relatively easy to do and don't comparatively take as long as more elaborate styles of nail art, but when you choose the right colour combination they'll make no less of an impact. People tend to compliment these whenever I do 'em!

Used here are Koh 'Metallic Green' for the lower layer (though through use of top coat the 'holo' effect was reduced as they sadly do) the pinkish/purple is Essence's 'Do a Floating Pirouette' from the Ballerina Backstage LE.

Daisy, daisy.

Anyone else do their nails in a cheery way to try and coax the sun out? I do~
I figured, "what's very spring?" and figured "daisies!". Apparently all things floral aren't necessarily my strong suit and maybe I'm better off sticking to cartoon characters and the like but, eh, wanted to try, at least.
This would be a gorgeous green by Zoya called 'Ivanka'. It's really a stunning colour that the photo doesn't reflect in the least. Our digital camera is currently not in the house so I asked my little sister to take a picture with her Blackberry as the mani wouldn't have lasted much longer; couldn't wait for the camera, it was starting to chip.

Going Up...

Actually had this on prior to the brown from 'Easter Chocolate' but forgot to post it, shame on me..

This is my previously posted 'Watermelon Rind' by China Glaze, layered over an emerald green Hema polish. The light in the picture has obscured the effect, but this made it a warmer green in all.
And again, trying to use some of my rhinestones of various colours. They reminded me of elevator buttons :)

Easter Chocolate.

I hope everyone had a great Easter and enjoyed delicious chocolate! In honour of chocolate, this lovely rich brown NYC polish '220 - Canal Street'. With my exams still going on, I'm still reluctant to do anything elaborate to my nails so instead I'm trying to get some more polishes in 'My Stash' swatched.

Can't wait for my exams to be over so I can rock some awesome nail art again!

Bonus cat.
Say hi to Mojo~
