Four Rimmel Gradient.

From left to right (all Rimmel),
700 Block Your Green, 825 Sky High, 420 Aqua Cool, 425 My Denim

Something more than a plain colour from me again? Could this be? Yes, it could, and so it is.
This gradient proved a tough one to photograph since lighting conditions everywhere are terrible. Outside the sky makes everything drab and gloomy, inside everything is made to look oddly orange. My photo situation is complicated.

My material for sponging has changed since last time! When I bought Emerald, I threw some makeup sponges into my basket as well. Prior to this I'd actually been using a cutting from a facepainting sponge, which is a lot more porous than makeup sponges and you can really see the difference it makes. The green nails are still done with the facepainting sponge, whilst the lilac/blue uses the new sponges. The gradient is so much smoother, I'm super pleased!

Toronto.

I think it's been quite a while since I wore anything from Herôme. I'm currently filling in for someone at their job, and it's really rough on the nails. Throughout my relatively short time there many a-manicure has gotten damaged and I've broken a few nails, too. So at the moment I keep them comparatively short and simple. Which is a shame for interesting nail art endeavours, but pretty good for going through my list of untrieds.
(I think I have worn this in the distant past, though.. Shhh.)

This is 'Toronto 118'.

I decided to take a picture at the front of our apartment and the back, so you see the polish in two different lighting situations and get the best view of it. It's somewhere between a green and a blue and has a particular shimmer and stroke-quality to it that I've come to associate with Herôme nail polish.

Despite a hint of tip wear (which I think could have been staved off with top coat - I am not wearing any) this has been on my nails for a few days now and despite being busy the colour has held up well! It covered in two coats.

Artificial light, flash.

Ali-corny.

Because this nail polish reminds me of Twilight Sparkle and she's an alicorn and the titles I choose are generally pretty corny.
Okay. Just so that's cleared up.

Hunkemöller had a 'fourth item free' sale thing going on, and as I had somehow missed this when I was up I grabbed the closest, cheapest thing to the register which happened to be this bottle of nail polish.

The bottle reads 'Sexy Nails!' and the name is given solely as 'Purple'. To the point, I guess.

Artificial light, flash.
If I'm honest, it's not really my colour. A bit too light for me, too pink to be my kind of purple. I don't know what it is exactly but I think pink (and close-to-pink) colours just don't look right with my skintone.

On the other hand, I have no qualms about its application - the formula is decent and covers well enough in two coats. I'd describe the brush as 'medium thickness' - it's not a thick, flat brush like Catrice, but not so thin that painting your nails becomes super precision work.

Shrug.

Mostly, nail polish is my ally. Some days it just refuses to work with me.
My previous polish had long since started to come off but I just didn't feel like sitting down to remove its remnants and put on something new. After trying a polish on my pinky that refused to apply properly, and then trying another on my ringfinger that had other issues I was starting to regret ever beginning.

Still, I'm not somebody that can stand bare nails for long so I grabbed Rimmel's '600 Deliciously Dark' and applied that, it being mostly and untried after all, with my only holo, Koh's 'Metallic Green (127)' as an accent.

The result.. meh. Deliciously did not apply well and looks messy. It also started to flake very quickly.

They can't all be winners.

It's purple, I promise. It just refused to come out that way.
